Stud removal by EDM (Spark erosion)
The typical problem of any kind of mechanical junctions with seized stud bolts can be solved only by destroying the stud, without any damage to threaded hole. Destruction can be carried out by Spark Erosion (EDM, Electric Discharge Machining) instead of mechanical progressive drilling which takes at least five times longer. The activity is available to work on any kind of part seized inside its housing, such as keys, pins, dowels, etc. Typical applications of EDM are on steam turbine casings, valve bodies, power couplings, presses, etc.
Working Range
- This process can be performed in any position (included overhead), without limits on size by progressive erosions.
